Healthy Homemade Hamburger Helper

I grew up eating Hamburger Helper and remember loving it. I was excited to give a homemade version a go and it was way easier than I expected! Any recipe I can get bone broth into, is a good one in my book. It's gluten free because I used a lentil pasta that I've been keeping on hand from Costco (it tastes good enough and is high in protein and fiber; here's a link for some similar ones), but you could really use any pasta you like. We did use real cream and cheese in it, so it isn't dairy free. This would also be an excellent recipe to hide organ meats in if you have a beef and ground organ meat blend!

Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion
1 clove of garlic or 1/2 tsp garlic powder
1.5 cups of uncooked pasta
2 cups of bone broth
1 cup of milk
2 T tomato paste
1.5 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
Spices: salt, black pepper, paprika, Italian seasoning
Fat of choice - my current preferences are lard, butter or coconut oil
Chop and sauté the onion and garlic in a large pan. When they are almost done, add the ground beef and cook through. Then add the broth, milk, pasta, spices and tomato paste. Bring to a gentle boil. Reduce to a simmer for 12-15 minutes or until the pasta is cooked to your liking. Turn the heat off, add the cheese and mix until it is all melted together. If you let it sit for a few minutes, it will thicken. Enjoy!
