If you don't already know, I coach a few hours a week at a local gym called Undefeated CrossFit. The response I often get when I tell people this is either “What the heck is CrossFit?” or “Whoa! That is too intense for me, I could never do it.” Here’s the thing, you can do it and it’s probably the most efficient way to get movement into your life. Can it be intense? Yes, it can be, but it can also be modified for everyone. The programming at Undefeated is amazing. I’ve been coaching there for over 4 years and I wouldn’t still be there if I didn’t believe in it 100%.
Here are three things I want you to know:
1. Every Saturday at noon there is a complimentary class that is suitable for anyone and everyone. It’s free! Go already!
2. Your first month is $99. This includes a course called “Fundamentals” where you will learn how to move properly, Olympic weightlifting technique, general strength training and basic gymnastics movements in a small group setting. These classes alone are worth more than $99. When you “graduate” Fundamentals, you have an unlimited membership for the remainder of the month. Seriously, this is so worth it and, really, you have nothing to lose.
3. The community at the gym is amazing. I’m going to let you in on a tiny little secret. In 2014 I contemplated moving back to Minnesota. I was ready to pack my bags and go into practice with my dad who is also a chiropractor. With the support of my friends and having a home away from home at Undefeated I decided to stay in Winnipeg. If you’re looking for a tribe that helps you get healthy and stay fit and happy, this just might be the place.
